Your forum software will have some for of moderation option to enable this, I would suggest you refer to the PHPBB3 Community forums and user manuals for some advice on how to enable it

here is what i want .
Another option available is the account activation. Here, the administrator can make it a requirement that you have to follow a link mailed to you after registering before your account is activated. In this case you will see a message similiar to this one:

Your account has been created. However, this forum requires account activation, an activation key has been sent to the e-mail address you provided. Please check your e-mail for further information
It is also possible that the administrator himself/herself has to activate the account.

Some boards will have custom profile fields. If the administrator has elected to display custom profile fields on the registration screen, these will also appear. In some cases, these custom profile fields will also be required fields, meaning they must not be left blank.

Once you have completed all of the fields on the registration page, clicking the Submit button will complete the process. If you wish to clear all fields, clicking the Reset button will do this for you. After clicking Submit, you will be advised of your next step. In most cases, you will be sent an e-mail to the address you specified with a link to finalise the registration. Other options also include being able to login immediately (i.e. there are no further actions for the registration process) or waiting until an administrator reviews your registration and accepts it, in which case you will be notified by e-mail.

there is no way for me to do this on my site
kiwi hosting lite
mudcatjugfishingforum.com is my site
i'm getting advertisements in the way of members joining with email addresses that are free, and the same ip. it's ruining my site. I may have to discontinue it.

Hi,

As mentioned above your forum software provides you with ways of preventing this from happening. Unfortunately we can not make these changes for you, as the administrator of your forum you need to make these changes within your forum settings.

There is an excellent post on the PHPBB3 support forum specifically dealing with how to reduce SPAM and I would suggest you have a read of this and consider implementing the changes they recommend here: http://www.phpbb.com...p...6&t=1437125

If you are unable to or require assistance then you'll need to provide us with a logon to your forum that enables us to make the changes for you, you can arrange this via email to our support mailbox.

Some examples of things you can do yourself through just changing your forum settings are

1) Enable Signup moderation
2) Enable CAPTCHA on signups
3) Enable individual post moderations
4) Ask your community to help moderate the forums, assign volunteers to moderate your forums and delete these posts as they appear and ban the user that created them.
